A Sunday Cinema: 2001: A Space Odyssey


Since this past week marked the 32nd anniversary of the opening of the first Star Wars movie, and this weekend marked the 32nd anniversary of the day I saw it for the first time(Grauman's Chinese Theater, natch), I thought I would pay tribute to the movie I consider the direct ancestor of Star Wars, Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey" as was posted on JOhn DeNardo's excellent website, SF Signal,  and its' weekly Sunday Cinema entry. 

Thanks to the good folks at blip.tv, a number of great films are now on the internets for everyone to enjoy. 

With that, sit back, put the picture on fullscreen and get your throwin' bone for Kubrick's non-cylon humanoid theory of evolution of the species known as man...
